Hi Everyone,

 

Last month I compiled all the chapter happenings for the ASIST Board.
Chapters are doing great things, but you all have them hidden on your
local websites.  This email is to remind you to send chapter programs,
events, awards, etc. to ASIST-L and Jan Hatzakos, jan at asis.org, so she
can post to the ASIST Chapters web page.  Here are all the great things
chapters did this quarter!  If you want to see my report in its
entirety, I have attached it.

 

*         LACASIST presented "Collaborative Tools: Best Practices and
New Trends" What does it mean to collaborate in today's Web 2.0 world?
on November 19, 2009

*         COASIST visited the Visit to the Thompson Memorial Library at
Ohio State on December 4, 2009.

*         LACASIST hosted its annual holiday party with SLA's Southern
California Chapter at the Skirball Cultural Center on December 4, 2009.
*         NEASIST presented The library is dead. Long live the library!

February 2, 2010.

*         LACASIST presented its 2009/2010 Contribution to Information
Science & Technology Award to Peter Ingwersen, Professor of Information
Retrieval and Seeking, Royal School of Library and Information Science,
Denmark on February 23, 2010.
*         NEASIST hosted its spring Book Club on Febrary 23, 2010.

*         ccASIST presented Information Design Workshop

*         NOASIST had a program on the Text Encoding Initiative Projects
and Small Libraries:

with chutzpah and how they did it

*         COASIST will present Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn & Relevance
of Social Media for Libraries

*         NEASIST is soliciting applications for its annual travel
award.  Deadline is April 30, 2010.

*         NEASIST will host its annual TED Talks on May 11, 2010.
