The Indiana Chapter of the American Society for Information Science &
Technology (I-ASIS&T) invites you to the following program:

"Success Strategies for Landing Your First Library Position"
Thursday, April 26, 2007

Buca di Beppo, downtown Indianapolis

Please join us as we connect with colleagues at Buca di Beppo Restaurant
to share immigrant southern Italian cooking served family-style and
learn success strategies in applying for public and academic library 
positions!

Our guest speakers will be Janet Gartin Moore, Head of Personnel for the 
Marion County Public Library system and Lewis Miller, Dean of Libraries 
at Butler University.

*** Program Abstract ***
Landing that first library professional position can be a harrowing 
experience for new graduates.  Our guest speakers will try to take some 
of the mystery and uncertainty out of the equation by telling you about 
what they, as library administrators, look for in new graduates for 
public and academic library positions.  Find out how to get a leg up on 
your classmates and impress those hiring in today's competitive library 
market!

Come network and socialize with new graduates and seasoned professionals 
alike from across Indiana at this fun event and learn some new 
techniques for your career search!

*** PARKING ***
Buca di Beppo is attached to the Circle Block Garage which usually
charges $3/hour. The entrance to the garage is on Illinois Street next
to the restaurant. Alternatively, the Circle Center Mall Parking Garage
(with multiple entrances throughout downtown Indianapolis) usually
charges $1 for three hours.

*** DIRECTIONS ***
FROM THE NORTH: I-465 east to I-70W toward Indy. Take Ohio St. Exit.
Turn left on East St. Right on Washington. Right on Illinois.

FROM THE SOUTH: Take 31 North (Meridian St.) When you hit Washington
take a left and then a right onto Illinois. We are on the right hand
side of the street.

FROM THE EAST: Take I-70 towards Indy. Take the Ohio St Exit. Turn left
on East St. Turn right on Washington. Turn right on Illinois.

FROM THE WEST: Take Washington East. Turn left on Illinois.
