[Chapters-l] Chapter Assembly Breakfast, Tuesday, Nov. 16 , 7-8:30 a.m.

On Tuesday morning, Nov. 16, please roll out of bed and into the Chapter
Assembly Planning Breakfast!

It will run from 7-8:30 a.m. What better way to begin the day than to
brainstorm with your fellow chapter leaders about concrete ways of running
a chapter?!  And obviously, breakfast will be served.

Potential categories of discussion

1. Membership - how do chapters recruit and welcome new members, how do
they follow-up with nonrenewals, how do they identify what their current
membership wants

2. Program Planning - how do chapter identify good topics, publicize their
programs, create a realistic program format and venue if their membership
is small or widely dispersed

3. Chapter Leadership - how do chapters enlarge their group of active
members and volunteers, how do they split up the work so no one member gets
burned out, how do they involve new members and grow their leadership

4. Communication and Finance - how do chapters create effective
communication efforts (publicity for programs, news/communication to
members, surveys and other means of getting feedback from members), how do
chapters keep their chapter finances efficient and solvent, what activities
