Dear Penny,

I want to echo your praise for Beata Panagopoulos, who has ably supported me
this year by chairing the Chapter Member, Chapter Event, and Chapter
Electronic Publication of the Year award juries, and by updating the
chapters-l listserv to improve communication with chapter officers.

I am unable to attend the Annual Meeting this year, but I know Beata will do
an excellent job running the Chapter Assembly meeting.

I also want to publicly recognize your excellent work as the chair of the
Leadership Development Committee, which consistently produces valuable
programs.

I encourage all chapter officers attending the Annual Meeting to attend this
year's Leadership Development Workshop:

Leadership Development Program Leading Successful Volunteer Projects
     Sunday, November 14, 2004, 5:00-6:30pm (free)

Non-profits, educational institutions, and many other types of
organization rely on volunteers to achieve their missions.  At the same
time, volunteer-based projects are a challenge to pull off. This
interactive session will draw on experiences from audience members and
examples from the recent redesign of the ASIS&T website.  We will
examine volunteering, leading, and success (and even projects) in order
to discover some simple but effective philosophies and strategies to
make you a better leader - and a better volunteer.

Thank you, Penny, for not only being a leader within the Northern Ohio
Chapter, but also for fostering ASIS&T leaders through the Leadership
Development Committee.
