Subject: [Carolinas_asist] Invitation for November 17 - Reception with Friends and Lecture in Chapel Hill - Recognizing Barbara Wildemuth

Greetings, You are invited to a pre-holidays, 2017 program for Carolinas ASIS&T chapter (CC: ASIST) on Friday, Nov. 17, 7-9pm at the RENCI *. Our program/reception will be to recognize and thank Dr. Barbara Wildemuth, who has retired from UNC-Chapel Hill's School of Information and Library Science. Barbara has been an active organizer and adviser to the American Society of Information Science and Technology.

Following social time and appetizers at 7:00, Barbara will share her thoughts on "Lessons Learned and IS in the Next Decade." The event will provide a chance for all of us to discuss the past and future of Information Science. We have much to be thankful for during the Thanksgiving holiday season.

Also, this is a special opportunity to come together as friends of IS in North and South Carolina. We encourage spouses, collegues, students, and family to join us, too. We will be discussing plans for programs next year and would like to honor more researchers and teachers who may be retiring from YOUR school. Please share event ideas and names with Deborah Swain (dswain at nccu.edu). Boot camps, lectures and workshops possible, too.

There will be plenty of parking and heavy hors d'oeuvres. Directions to the RENCI are below.*

Please RSVP by noon, Thursday, November 16 to Dina Mohammed Ali, NCCU Student Chapter President: dmohamm1 at eagles.nccu.edu or 919-908-4639.
