[Sent for Mike Brown. And apologies if this is a duplication. Dick Hill.]

It's election time!

We are now seeking nominations for officers for 2010-2011.  Please email me
at brownmeb at email.unc.edu if you would like to be considered or would like
to nominate someone for one of our three elected positions (chair,
vice-chair, secretary/treasurer).  Details about the formal positions can be
found here:  http://www.asis.org/AboutASIS/chofficermanual.pdf.  Please also
email if you are interested in getting involved on one of our committees
(program committee or publications committee).

For 2010-2011, we want to reinvigorate ccASIS&T and create a more
truly regional organization. This could mean:

Creating a Web site that braids together individual ASIS&T groups’ blogs and
Twitter feeds
Holding virtual events that bring together ASIS&T members from academic
programs in the Southeast
Meeting for annual get-togethers on our individual campuses
Offering job development ideas for both faculty and professionals working in
the field.

Any and all ideas are welcome!

We will schedule the online elections for Oct 15, just before the ASIS&T
national conference convenes.

I also want to thank all of the 2009-2010 cc:asis&t officers: Laura
Christopherson (vice chair), Kjersti Kyle (secretary), Cassidy Sugimoto
(past-president), Heather Bowden (treasurer), Joe Ryan (program chair), and
our program committee members: Amber Cushing, Katrina Muller, and Jessica
Lin.  This board was extremely dedicated and energetic, and they were
responsible for excellent and energetic programming, which included An
Evening of TED Talks with Gary Marchionini and an Information Design
Workshop (for which we were named a co-winner for Chapter Event of the
Year!).

The next year will bring many changes to ccASIS&T! Feel free to email me
with any questions you may have about getting involved.

Best,

Mike Brown
