This is a test to make sure the list is working, so please ignore. Some of you, at this point in time, will be observers, and other will be active planners. Note - anyone can chime in at any point, with questions, suggestions, etc. Does not matter if you are an "observer" or not. Right now, Chirag and I are focusing on a one-day event, to take place in March 2016, at Rutgers University. At this stage of the planning process, we need to: 1. Determine the theme/content of this meeting (we likely need to bring in some SIG leaders for this discussion & planning), and 2. Also reach out to local student chapters. Right now, we have the Rutgers student chapter, and we will soon invite the Pratt one; any other suggestions? In terms of a start time, we are thinking around 10:00am for program (with a 9-10am registration/arrival/greeting period), ending around 4:00pm, with an option for some to attend dinner together that evening. Not sure which day of the week, but we are focused on a weekday, not a weekend day. There will be a registration fee - but we'll hold off on determining that until we have the program/theme decided. What do people think about the overall plan, as well as #1 and #2 above? Thanks. Michael Leach Past Director, Chapter Assembly P.S. The SIG/s that you get involved might be able to also put in some funds to allow maybe more students to come with a reduced registration (or even free). Like Pratt, they are also about an hour away from Rutgers in the south. Michael - I sent you a separate email about the timing of this event, which based on our conversation, is more suitable for late Jan or some time in Feb. And we need to identify which SIG(s) will participate in this program - I have notes from the Annual Meeting in St. Louis that SIGs HLTH & STI had some interest, but my mind says there was a third (perhaps KM?), but I did not write it down. We need to reach out to those SIGs - or send a message to SIG-L and explain the regional programs concept - and ask for involvement - what do you think?
