Dear Yashwant, Amrit and Pradip,
Since we set up this listserv to talk about the development of an Indian
or Southeast Asian chapter we have not talked any more about it.
Are you still interested in exploring the idea of trying to coordinate
ASIST activities and communities in your part of the world?
Perhaps what I might do is ask Dick Hill (Executive Director of ASIST)
to send a message to all of our members in India, Indonesia, and other
countries in the area to see if they are interested in communicating
together.
If you would like to do that, maybe you could together write a draft
email to send out to those members, letting them know that you are
trying to organize a regional chapter of ASIST to share knowledge and
have virtual conversations about specific topics and to to plan
activities including ASIST meetings at regional library or information
science conferences.
What do you think?
Best wishes,
Caryn
