NEW Feature in ASIS&T Digital Library
When you log in as an ASIS&T Member to the Digital Library, you now have access to the Journal (JASIS&T) back to Volume, number 1, in 1950 when the journal was called "American Documentation" and Vernon Tate was the Editor.
This is only available to ASIS&T members who have elected e-access to JASIS&T. Institutions with site licenses do not automatically have access.
Log in instructions, if you selected e-access, are at http://www.asis.org/digitallibrary.html. The URL for the Digital Library is http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/cgi-bin/collectionhome/ADLCOL/HOME. As you log in, there is a button to retrieve your password if you have forgotten it. But you must respond within 24 hours to a message from the system responding to your request.
After you log in to the Digital Library and select either JASIS&T or JASIS, at the top of the page are headers, where you will see two of the following 3 (depending on which publication you selected):
See Also:
Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology
Journal of the American Society for Information Science
Journal of the American Society for Information Science 1950-1985
The bottom entry above is the addition of the entire backfile of the publication. To browse the early issues you will have to click on "issues" (to the right of "Journal Home" towards the top of the screen) then go the bottom and click on "earlier issues" and repeat this to get to the years desired. Searching will bring up citations from the back files.
JASIS&T is now part of the Wiley Blackwell administration since Wiley acquired Blackwell. Wiley had started the conversion and led much of the conversion work; Blackwell is continuing Wiley's work at improving the Digital Library.
Sincerely,
Dick Hill
