The Florida chapter of ASIST has been dormant for a while, but I hope to see a revival.  I can't say when we will begin to have activities.  I suggest that you subscribe to Asist-florida at asis.org  to stay informed of any activities we plan. You can subscribe online:

My name is Douglas Starke, and I am the current president of the Central
Florida ISSA Chapter.  Our chapter is interested in information concerning
any activities your organization might have in our area, or in any ways we
can help or support each other.  Our group is growing from a small steady
core, and would like to provide the best opportunities we can to any
security professionals - or those learning about these areas.

Can you please send me information about any local (to the central Florida
region) events you have?  Also, I would be very happy to hear from you about
how we might share some information/resources between our groups.
