This is a ISO/TC46 ballot for approval of standard before publication, ISO 5127, Information and documentation - Foundation and vocabulary

US voted No previously since the changes were not adequately implemented so without doubt please review comments and edits accordingly to be approved after revisions have been made.

This International Standard provides a concept system and general vocabulary for the field of documentation within the whole information field. This International Standard has been drawn up with a careful view towards a balanced representation of major work areas: documentation, libraries, archives, media, museums, records management, conservation as well as of legal aspects of documentation. The scope of the vocabulary provided in this International Standard corresponds to that of ISO/TC 46, Standardization of practices relating to libraries, documentation and information centres, publishing, archives, records management, museum documentation, indexing and abstracting services, and information science.

A copy of the standard is available for download from the attached ballot.

2)  NISO Z39.96-201x, JATS: Journal Article Tag Suite (1.1)

The purpose of the NISO Journal Article Tag Suite (NISO JATS) standard is to define a suite of XML elements and attributes that describes the content and metadata of journal articles-including research and non-research articles, letters, editorials, book and product reviews-with the intent of providing a common format in which publishers and archives can exchange journal content. This standard is a revision of JATS 1.0 published in 2012, and includes input determined by the NISO JATS Standing Committee pursuant to its ANSI-approved Continuous Maintenance process.

The proposed standard is available in PDF form from a link on the ballot webpage and in the announcement e-mail. Also available is a reference document which lists the changes made to JATS since the 2012 version.

Your voting options are:
Yes -- approve for publication as an American National Standard
No -- do not approve for publication
Abstain from voting

Comments are required for No and Abstain votes.
