The 3 parts of ISO 3166:
ISO/FDIS 3166-1, Codes for the representation of names of countries and their subdivisions — Part 1: Country codes
ISO/FDIS 3166-2, Codes for the representation of names of countries and their subdivisions — Part 2: Country subdivision code
SO/FDIS 3166-3, Codes for the representation of names of countries and their subdivisions — Part 3: Code for formerly used names of countries
are up for revision - its a short ballot cycle so i need comments by 5/23 - I have attached the drafts plus a document with some comments on Part 2 from 1997 to this message
My suggestion since these are heavily used standards is to vote to revise - but others might have different opinions
Also im embarrassed to say I seem to have lost the suggestion I received for Election to the NISO Board of Directors - if folks who sent me some could send them again I would be grateful
The candidates are
Marian Hollingsworth
B Tommie Usdin
Even Owens
Xuemao Wang
we can vote for 3 - please resend those suggestions by 5/17
Mark
