LIU Post’s Doctoral Programs Expand to Manhattan and Hudson Valley
Brookville, N.Y. – A national leader in education and information science, LIU Post’s doctoral programs in information studies and educational interdisciplinary studies are adding two new locations in Manhattan and Hudson Valley, respectively.
Starting this September, the Ed.D. in Interdisciplinary Educational Studies will be available at the LIU Hudson building on the SUNY Purchase College campus in Westchester County.
In January 2019, the Ph.D. in Information Studies will be offered at the LIU Palmer School of Library and Information Science suite in New York University’s Bobst Library on Washington Square in Manhattan.
Both programs will continue to be offered each fall in the B. Davis Schwartz Memorial Library on the LIU Post campus on Long Island in Brookville.
“One of LIU’s strengths has always been its proximity to the New York City region, the most vibrant educational, cultural and business centers in the world,” said Dr. Kimberly R. Cline, president of Long Island University. “Our new doctoral locations provide students with the versatility to take courses even closer to their homes and work.”
“Career prospects are strong for graduates of our doctoral programs,” said Dr. Albert Inserra, dean of the College of Education, Information and Technology, where the Ed.D. and Ph.D. programs are housed. “LIU Post’s doctorates are interdisciplinary and capitalize on perspectives and research methods from many fields, including educational leadership, economics, philosophy, sociology ethics, computer science, history and psychology.”
