The Kent State University School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) is seeking exceptional candidates for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (subject to University approval).

We are most interested in a candidate who can capitalize on our school's strengths and extend our coverage into new areas of information studies via new and emerging combinations of content areas. Applications are encouraged from candidates with research and teaching competencies that bridge two or more of the following areas:

  *   School and/or youth librarianship;
  *   Museum studies;
  *   Socio-technical studies.

Candidates must have a doctorate in Library and Information Science or a related field and demonstrate evidence of strong potential for research and scholarly activity, publications and successful grant applications in one or more of the above research areas. Candidates should be able to teach at least one of the School's core courses<https://www.kent.edu/node/160281>. Experience in online teaching is preferred.

A nine-month appointment begins August 21, 2017; summer teaching, including workshops, may be available. Salary is competitive; benefits are excellent.
