The Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) is committed to equity, diversity, understanding and inclusion, in the information fields as well as in society at large.

ASIS&T condemns any form of discrimination. We hope the people of Charlottesville, and all global communities affected adversely by hate and racism, will stand in protest of these events and eradicate the values and beliefs that cause these deadly events to occur.

The event in Charlottesville, and other world events in which people are harmed due to racism, discrimination or intimidation, are against the core values of ASIS&T, of our curricula, and that of the information professions. ASIS&T expresses our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those who were lost or injured.
