The Sixth Library Research Seminar will take place in Urbana, IL, October
7-9. With the theme of “The Engaged Librarian,” LRS VI focuses on how
collaboration and cross-disciplinary research can create new knowledge and
chart a course for partnerships with deep and lasting impact.

Highlights:

   -

   Opening keynote by Barbara J. Ford, “Bridging the Global Research
   Divide: Access, Equity and Social Responsibility”
   -

   A stimulating mix of over sixty juried papers, panels, workshops, and
   posters that will inform, inspire, and engage participants. The tentative
   program at http://www.library.illinois.edu/lrs6 reflects the exciting
   diversity of topics and methods that will be shared.
   -

   Opportunities to enjoy conversations with faculty and graduate students
   from library schools and iSchools; academic, public and school librarians;
   IMLS program staff; and non-librarian research partners.

Library Research Seminar, held every 3 to 4 years, is a unique conference
that spotlights high-quality research and innovative programs that advance
the practice of librarianship. LRS VI is jointly hosted by the University
Library and the Graduate School of Library & Information Science at the
University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and ALA’s Library Research Round
Table.
