LAC Group seeks a full-time, Temporary Research Librarian for our client, a prestigious international law firm in Los Angeles (Open to New York City office as well).  The desired candidate needs to be skilled in providing strong research expertise to support the firm's practice areas.  This assignment starts August 18th and will last for approximately 5 weeks.
Responsibilities:

  *   As part of a firm-wide research team, provide substantive research expertise to support the firm's practice areas and business development efforts, including strategic research related to markets, industries, and competitors;
  *   Proactively and independently assess research requests and ensure that research meets stated and anticipated needs;
  *   Conduct in-depth legal and business research using a variety of databases and resources.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  *   Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science is required;
  *   Ability to "hit the ground running" and conduct in-depth legal and business research in a fast paced environment;
  *   Substantive knowledge of the legal materials and databases;
  *   Excellent communication skills including strong writing skills is required;
  *   Ability to effectively apply independent judgment and have a strong sense of urgency and professional dedication;
  *   Strong planning and organizational skills, including demonstrated ability to manage workloads effectively and meet all stated deadlines;
