LAC Group is seeking a Library Technician (Technical Services) on behalf of our client, a prestigious academic institution library located in Malibu, CA
Responsibilities include:
Conduct copy cataloging and receiving for all types of materials; maintain holdings records; create descriptive cataloging copy in OCLC; supervise student workers doing stack maintenance; and participate in technical services projects. This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, includes an excellent benefit package, and reports to the Associate University Librarian for Information Resources, Collections, and Scholarly Communication.
Requirements:
A minimum of two years of college; excellent computer skills including keyboarding; excellent communication skills, both oral and written; excellent organizational skills; knowledge of bibliographic data; the ability to perform detailed work; the ability to work independently and as a team member; the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and move loaded book trucks; experience with OCLC Connexion; and knowledge of MARC 21 and AACR2. Preferred: Reading knowledge of a foreign language.
