Term Appointment: Lecturer
The School of Library, Archival and Information Studies at the
University of British Columbia invites applications for a 1 year
Lecturer position, commencing July 1st 2013.
The initial 12-month appointment may be renewed for up to two more
years, subject to performance and availability of funds. The successful
candidate will have a research and teaching interest/experience in the
area of technology and information.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. (or expect to have successfully defended
prior to the start date), or a combination of extensive professional
experience and a master’s degree in a field related to the teaching
areas of the position. Applicants must demonstrate potential for
excellence and must provide strong evidence of their teaching ability
and effectiveness. This is a full-time position which carries a teaching
load of _6_ courses plus administrative responsibilities as appropriate.
This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
The School offers a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS),
Master of Archival Studies (MAS), a joint MAS/MLIS, a multidisciplinary
Master of Arts in Children’s Literature (MACL), and a doctorate in
library, archival and information studies leading to the awarding of a
Ph.D. Further information about the School can be found on its Web site

The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, March 15th, 2013.
