-- Description

Spatial and Image-based information systems are increasingly at the heart of
novel applications, raising new challenges in complex spatial data modeling,
spatial data and image sharing, emergent geo-spatial data semantics. ASIIS is a
track of the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing (SAC 2011). For the past twenty
years the ACM SAC symposium has been a primary and international forum for
applied computer scientists, computer engineers and application developers
to interact and present their work. The ASIIS track aims to foster
interdisciplinary discussions and research in various aspects of spatial and
image based information systems.

The topics of interest should be related to spatial and image-based systems,
they include but are not limited to:

* Image-Content indexing and retrieval 
* Geographical information systems 
* Image Annotation and retrieval on Social Networks
* Data modelling  
* Multiple representations  
* Spatial and spatiotemporal indexing 
* Spatial and Image based metadata and ontologies

-- Submission guidelines
Authors are invited to submit original papers from the above-mentioned or other related areas will be considered. This includes three categories of submissions: 1) original and unpublished research; 2) reports of innovative computing applications in the arts, sciences, engineering, business, government, education and industry; and 3) reports of successful technology transfer to new problem domains.
The author(s) name(s) and address(es) must NOT appear in the body of the paper, and self-reference should be in the third person. This is to facilitate blind review. Only the title should be shown at the first page without the author's information. Each paper must not exceed 4,000 words. The program committee may reject papers that exceed this length on the grounds of length alone. One of the authors must be designated as the primary contact point to receive the notification at the time of the paper submission. Authors should submit their full paper via the Electronic Submission. Each paper will undergo a formal peer review process on the basis of technical quality, originality, clarity,and relevance to the track topics above.
In addition, for each submitted paper, a separated cover page (preferably in MS Word or plain ASCII) should be sent to the email address:

including the paper title, abstract, list of key words, and list of authors with full names and postal addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers, and email addresses. One of the authors must be designated as the primary contact point to receive the notification at the time of the paper submission.
If your submitted manuscript gets accepted by ACM SAC 2013, the final camera-ready copy must follow the template provided ACM SAC 2013.The template can be downloaded from the URL:

At least one of the authors of the accepted paper must register for the conference and present the paper, and the final camera-ready copies of accepted papers must fit within five (5) two-column pages, with the option to add three pages at a charge of $80 per each additional page. Accepted papers will be published in the ACM SAC 2013 proceedings. Paper registration for the conference is required and allows the paper to be printed in the conference proceedings. An author or a proxy attending SAC MUST present the paper. This is a requirement for the paper to be included in the ACM/IEEE digital library. No-show of scheduled papers will result in excluding the papers from the ACM/IEEE digital library.
Please be aware that a student research competition is also organized. Graduate students are invited to submit research abstracts (minimum of 2-page and maximum of 4-page) following the instructions published at SAC 2013 website. Submission of the same abstract to multiple tracks is not allowed.
A set of selected papers, which did not get accepted as full papers, will be accepted as poster papers and will also be published as extended two (2) two-column pages abstracts in the ACM SAC 2013 proceedings.

Please note that a paper cannot be submitted to more than one track.
