LAC Group is seeking a Web Programmer for our client, a non-profit professional exchange network in Los Angeles, CA. We are seeking a savvy database administrator who has an interest in providing technical assistance to office staff, volunteers and the membership at large.
Web portfolio submission in Web PHP and MySQL is a requirement. We will be administering testing for technical skills prior to an in-person interview.
Responsibilities:
* Managing a database of 22,000 members and 200 volunteers
* Providing regular membership reports for the office
* Keeping the website infrastructure up-to-date
* Problem solving glitches/hacker attacks
* Website maintenance and implementation of new programs as the need arises
* Implementing security features and an emergency recovery plan
* Creating resources to help our volunteers maintain their regional websites (all WordPress)
* Installing the backend for online chats, webinars, and podcasts
* Communicating with members and volunteers concerning website problems
* Keeping an eye on and installing new WordPress plug-ins that could enhance our benefits to our members.
* Serving as liaison to SCBWI's technology vendors
Qualifications:
* HTML5 and CSS
* PHP coding and WordPress
* MySQL database server configuration and maintenance.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience or strong project portfolio in Web PHP & MySQL Database development is required
* Web analytics
* Ability to communicate technology well with people of all skill level.
* Knowledge of responsive web design
* Microsoft Office and Access
* Experience developing Apps
* Online marketing experience
* Interest in youth literature or related field
