LAC Group seeks a Library Systems Administrator to provide on-site Library support for a prestigious government organization and library at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.   This is for a potential 1 year plus 4 option years (5 years total) contract working in a federal government library.     The role of this contract is to provide onsite, ongoing and intermittent library system support services and for maintaining and supporting all aspects of the SirsiDynix ILS - the library's on-line system and web-based catalog.   This is a full-time position with an excellent compensation and benefits package and is slated to start on September 28th, 2012.   Position is subject to award.

Responsibilities:

*         Provides Systems Administration for Library ILS, SIRSI Symphony

*         Diagnose and solve problems and issues concerning OPAC, cataloging, circulation, serials control, acquisition, self-check interface, and hardware

*         Perform an annual inventory using Symphony

*         Customize SIRSI/ Symphony/ILS interface by performing in-house coding

*         Maintain library electronic interfaces on both a public website and intranet

*         Perform coding using standard internet technologies including html, xml, SharePoint, and CSS

*         Troubleshoot problems with staff computers and public-access workstations

*         Assist library patrons in the use of all digital resources, self-check equipment, and library equipment

Qualifications:

*         Masters of Library Science degree is required

*         At least 4 years demonstrated experience supporting web technologies such as HTML, XML, and CSS

*         At least 2 years demonstrated experience creating and coding UNIX shell scripts

*         At least 2 years hands-on experience developing sites using SharePoint

*         Ability to use the OCLC bibliographic utility and online authority files

*         At least 4 years hands-on experience trouble-shooting computer hardware and networks

*         At least 4 years hands-on experience creating and coding web accessible electronic interfaces for databases using advanced technologies

*         Ability to support RFID

*         Hands-on experience administering a SIRSI integrated library system

*         Working knowledge of the UNIX operating system

*         Broad knowledge of library principles and procedures gained from at least 4 years work experience in libraries
