Chicago State University Library seeks a Technical Specialist Librarian
responsible for library digital and web services. In addition to essential
librarian duties, the applicant will be: Responsible for set up, design,
maintenance, and support of web server systems, web page design and
publishing systems, web site architecture and design, and other web-related
applications for library services; Responsible for availability of library
electronic services and preserving accessibility through library web server
and site resource infrastructure; Conducts digitization to expand and
maintain digital library content; Represents the unit on various
internal/external committees regarding library web technology and web
services; Provides comprehensive administrative reports and detailed
analyses of library web services; Capable of providing direct and/or
indirect supervision of lower level staff; Performs other related duties as
assigned.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  An MLS from an ALA-accredited institution or
equivalent degree with work experiences at libraries or information
agencies, and with a Bachelor's degree in information systems or computer
science or equivalent work experiences on information technology systems;
work experiences in advanced web design and support with detailed knowledge
of UNIX/LINUX systems administration. Preferred Qualifications: Working
knowledge of relational databases, with MySQL preferred; and Work experience
with web applications, digitization software, CMS administration using Adobe
Contribute, Dreamweaver, and CONTENTdm. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of management principles, practices, methods, and techniques;
Supervisory and administrative abilities; Decision making ability; and
Ability to work effectively with others in multiple duties.
