A new regular venture on Infolit iSchool, in the virtual world Second Life (SL),
is a journal club, discussing a different article (on information literacy /
information behaviour) every month.First meeting of the Journal Club is next
week. You need a SL avatar, and SL browser installed, to participate.

When: Wednesday September 29th, 12 noon SL time (which = Pacific time, see
http://tinyurl.com/2g4tkvo for times elsewhere)
Where: Infolit iSchool, Second Life
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Infolit%20iSchool/126/239/21/

Pancha Enzyme (Edinburgh University) leads a discussion based on the article:

Kuhlthau, C. C., Heinström, J. & Todd, R. J. (2008) "The 'information search
process' revisited: Is the model still useful?." Information Research
[ejournal], 13(4), paper 335. [Available at
http://InformationR.net/ir/13-4/paper355.html]

In preparation for the journal club discussion on 29 September, 12noon SLT,
please read the above article.

Pancha will start by summarising the paper very briefly in voice and text chat,
then there will be a discussion in text chat.

Here are some questions to think about - and you may have many more!
* What strengths or weaknesses do you see in this paper?
* What is/are the purpose/s of the Information Search Process model according to
the authors, and do the findings of the paper support the/se purpose/s?
* What links, if any, do you see between the ISP model and Information Literacy
Standards?
