[Asis-l] ASIST Annual NOT MOVING

Hi Dick and all,

I have been having trouble getting through the line for reservations of
ASIST Annual. Whenever I called, a message says "Hello, thank you for
calling reservations. We are currently on the other line. Please leave a
message, and we will get back to you."

I just left a voice mail, but I wondered whether anyone else is having the
same problem with this reservation line. Should we try some other hotels
instead?

Dear Ms. Rong Tang,

The ASIST Annual Meeting IS NOT CHANGING DATES OR LOCATION, although at this
time 
the facility is not a Hilton and the phones are answered with "Hilton."
 
The facility is in bankruptcy proceedings, but so are a number of excellent
hotels 
in the current climate.  Renovations of the space and rooms we will be using
is complete 
and should not affect the meeting.  We are confident that the facility will
operate in a normal manner

Because of the uncertainty, we are extending the ASIS&T EARLY registration
date until September 17.

However, to make reservations at the hotel, it is necessary that you call,
as online reservations will not work.  
The line for reservations that is staffed 24/7 is:
   (412) 560-1751, 
and do identify yourself as with ASIS to get our special rate.

And thank you all for your continued support.  A number of suggestions and
offers of help have been received.
