Dear Dr. Newcomb, at the University of New Mexico Libraries we are
advertizing three relatively unusual information science faculty
positions in the */e-Research Center/* (eRC) of the /Centennial Science
& Engineering Library/ (advertisement attached). I hope you can identify
alumni or recent collaborators that you think would be interested and
fit one of the areas. We are looking for three early career
professionals (if possible) to work in one or more of the following
areas: 1) Data visualization, spatial data management, and GIS or 2)
Data Intensive Research support, or 3) Data Life Cycle management (data
curation).
We will provide opportunities for training in areas not currently in any
one person's resume due to the rapidly emerging issues in these fields.
I think this is a great opportunity for someone interested in being part
of an "emergent" group working towards deeply imbedded library
assistance for the research process.
Thank you in advance, Johann
