Subject: Call for Nominations for the Watson Davis 2009 Leadership Award

Nominations are now being sought for the 2009 ASIS&T Watson Davis Leadership Award:

The Watson Davis Award recognizes an ASIS&T member who has shown continuous dedicated service to the membership through active participation in and support of ASIS&T programs, chapters, SIGs, committees, and publications.

Eligibility: Any ASIS&T member who has been a member for at least five years is eligible to receive the award.

Nominations may come from any member of the Society or jointly by any chapter, special interest group, or any other official unit of the Society.

Each nomination shall be accompanied by documentation which includes at least the following:
(a) A letter of nomination with supporting reasons for the choice of the candidate (specific information about the quality and length of service of the nominee, with careful consideration given to the words continuous, service, and membership)
(b) A comprehensive list of the contributions of the member to ASIS&T (such contributions need not have been on a national level, but nominees should show strong potential for continued service to the Society; good sources for this data are the ASIS&T Headquarters, the nominee's resume, and other members)
(c) Supporting letters of nomination that provide additional detail on the nominee's contributions to the Society (here, quality is more important than quantity).

Deadline: July 15th

All nominations should be made electronically: http://www.softconf.com/asist2/WatsonDavis/submit.html
If you have any questions, please let us know.

Best,
Linnea Johnson
