The Texas Center for Digital Knowledge (TxCDK) is an official center of the University of North Texas and is housed in the College of Information, Library Science, and Technologies. TxCDK is a dynamic, entrepreneurial-oriented research and service organization focusing on digital knowledge in the networked environment. Established in 2000, its mission is to stimulate and support interdisciplinary research and projects encompassing theoretical frameworks and practical applications that can enhance the creation, storage, organization, retrieval, use, and evaluation of information in a wide variety of digital formats. The Center is comprised of members who conduct research and carry out projects related to its mission. For more information on TxCDK go to http://www.txcdk.org.
The work of the Associate Director is aligned with the nature, focus, and needs of TxCDK and its contribution to the broader UNT research enterprise and service activities. The Associate Director reports to the Director of the Center and has responsibilities in five key areas:
* research and grant development support
* planning and evaluation
* administration and management
* fiscal management
* marketing, outreach and building and maintaining collaborative relationships
The Associate Director also supports the Center's interdisciplinary focus through active engagement with and initiation of communication among relevant disciplines and units on the campus. The Associate Director anticipates organizational needs, establishes priorities, and completes project tasks independently under pressure of competing deadlines. A primary responsibility for this position is to support and work with Center members to increase their research activities and is expected to find efficient and effective methods for carrying out responsibilities.
The position requires an earned Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Information Science or a related discipline; demonstrated experience in research proposal development and grant writing and/or experience in research projects. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the development and administration of effective, innovative programs to broaden research awareness and enhance funding opportunities.

* proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites applications
Ph.D. and three or more years experience in administration and management. Proven track record of funded research highly preferred.
