Data Audit Framework & DRAMBORA workshops

Monday 1st December, National e-Science Centre, Edinburgh

Registration: http://www.dcc.ac.uk/events/dcc-2008/programme/

As part of the International Digital Curation Conference the DCC are running
a series of curation workshops. Two of these will profile tools created to
help institutions improve their data management and preservation: the Data
Audit Framework and DRAMBORA.

The Data Audit Framework enables organisations to establish what data assets
they hold and assess how they are being managed. The self-audit methodology
identifies weaknesses in current data creation and management practices to
suggest recommendations for future work. DRAMBORA meanwhile is a repository
audit tool based on risk assessment. It assists repository managers to
assess performance and identify risks to prioritise future work.

The workshops will provide an overview to the tools and their use. Both will
incorporate a practical session so delegates get the opportunity to try out
the online toolkits and discuss how they are of use to their organisations.

Registration costs £25.00 for Associates Network members and £50.00 for non
members. Joining the Network is free: http://www.dcc.ac.uk/associates/
