*** CALL FOR PAPERS. Apologies for cross-postings ***
Dear Colleagues:
As Co-Chairs of the AMCIS 2008 mini-track on "Critical Intranet Research,"
we would like to invite you to submit a paper to this event. The deadline
for papers is MARCH 3, 2008. The conference itself runs August 14-17,2008 in
beautiful, cosmopolitan Toronto, Canada.
With this mini-track call, we are recruiting papers that take a critical
approach to intranet studies, where the traditional, taken-for-granted views
on intranets, intranet management, and intranet usage are scrutinised and
questioned, and where the dissensus and conflicts among organisational
actors and academic commentators are highlighted and discussed.
The official Call For Papers for this mini-track can be found on the AMCIS
2008 web site at
<http://www.business.mcmaster.ca/amcis2008/mini-tracks.htm>
http://www.business.mcmaster.ca/amcis2008/mini-tracks.htm (currently under
the General track listings, but this may be moved to the Enterprise Systems
track. stay tuned).
A more detailed description of the Call For Paper for the "Critical Intranet
Research" mini-track can be found at
<http://www.viktoria.se/~dixi/amcis2008-mt.htm>
www.viktoria.se/~dixi/amcis2008-mt.htm. There you will find more explanation
about what "critical research" is and links to key background papers that
you may find useful.
Note that paper submissions are made through the AMCIS 2008 web site.
Selected papers for the conference will be recommended for publication in a
Special Issue of the Journal of the AIS.
We are really excited about this mini-track as it will be an excellent
opportunity for intranet researchers and practitioners to come together to
meet in-person, network, and discuss ground-breaking research in this area.
We hope this event will serve as a catalyst that launches more collaborative
research and publishing opportunities for mini-track attendees.
If you have any questions about the mini-track, please do not hesitate to
contact either one of us via the following gmail email account set up for
the conference: <mailto:AMCISPR0082008 at gmail.com> AMCISPR0082008 at gmail.com.
