ALA Annual Conference, Chicago, IL, 2009

The ACRL STS Research Committee and STS Program Planning Committee
invite proposals
for posters to be exhibited during the STS program reception at the ALA
Annual Conference
in Chicago. Posters will be displayed from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on
Monday, July 13, 2009,
immediately following the STS Program, which starts at 8:30 a.m.

Be part of our program of the Science and Technology Section of ACRL and
submit
your ideas by January 12, 2009. We encourage proposals for posters
relating to
the following program theme:

*Big Science, Little Science, E-Science: the science librarian's role in
the conversation. */

This program will explore the science librarian's role in the emerging
conversation
concerning data and data curation in scientific research with the goal
of raising
awareness and empowering science librarians to approach faculty members
about
these issues. Therefore, posters should address the role of the science
librarian
in scientific research. /

The STS Research Committee will select posters for the Chicago session
through a blind
review process on the basis of timeliness, thoughtfulness, and relevance
to sci/tech
librarianship and to the program theme. Additional criteria are
available at:
