Experienced Project Manager for Library, KM, and Research Services
 
LAC seeks a visionary and experienced leader to serve as Project Manager / Head of Library, KM, and Research Services to head a multi-year project for a prestigious government agency.  The PM will oversee and be responsible for operations, delivery of quality services, management and supervision of the library/learning center services, research services, knowledge management, and the agency's archives that include print, electronic, and other types of information resources. 

Qualifications

    * Graduate degree in library or information science or information/knowledge management, with a bachelor's or master's degree in international relations or a related field highly desirable.
    * Previous experience with international development programs is preferred.
    * Demonstrated experience performing requirements analysis for information and knowledge management repositories. 
    * Experience in a leadership and oversight role for complex projects involving IT, archives and/or records, knowledge management programs or libraries essential.
    * We require a problem solver who has excellent communication and "people" skills.  You must be a team leader who will encourage collaboration, motivate and mentor others in the team, and be able to understand and appreciate multiple points of view.
    * You must be able to understand, communicate and present ideas and ideas to groups with varying interests and responsibilities within the organization:  the CIO, librarians and knowledge managers, researchers, contract officers, systems administrators, programmers and others.
    * Knowledge of Federal information policies and standards is highly desirable.
    * Experience with OpenText Collections Server, SIRSI Unicorn STILAS, Documentum, ColdFusion MX, Basic Plus, Internet-related software applications, federated search applications and other open source tools.
    * Experience in evaluating and improving the effectiveness of information management operations.
