DC/SLA's Professional Enhancement Day is fast approaching. Do not miss your opportunity to hear insight from our excellent speakers this year!

Topics will include:
* What are you doing to assess the future workforce needs of your library?
* Are you using the changing environment to your advantage?
* How will you find individuals with the skills you require?
* Do you understand the mechanics of getting a new job in today's market?

Join colleagues in a discussion of skills that are needed in a variety of environments that are hiring librarians/information professionals today. Learn what these types of organizations-government agencies, law firms, media organizations, consultants, database producers/vendors, not-for-profits-are seeking in new hires, and where they are looking for prospects.

The event will begin with a panel discussion, "Seeking Skills: What Employers Want and Need," moderated by Susan Fifer Canby of National Geographic.

Confirmed panelists include:
Deborah K. Balsamo, Environmental Protection Agency
Peggy Fry, Georgetown University Law Library
Megan Galaida, CASE (Center for the Advancement and Support of Education)
Michael Gruenberg, Proquest-CSA
Serena Leogue, McKinsey & Co.
Kate Martin, McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP
Laura Soto-Barra, National Public Radio

Following a Networking Break, Nancy Davenport, DC Public Library Interim Director of Library Services, will address "New Routes to New Careers: Finding (and Getting) Your Ideal Job."

Representatives from InfoCurrent and Library Associates will be available to critique your resume. To schedule a Resume Critique, email your preferred (15-minute) timeslot to Barbie Keiser at barbieelene at att.net. You will receive an email confirmation.
