The panel members of last week's ASIST panel discussion, ''Towards the Use of Genre to Improve Search in Digital Libraries: Where Do We Go from Here?'' would like to thank the many attendees for their interest and enthusiasm. Audience participation was so abundant that moderator Stephanie Haas was only able to make it through two of her nine questions during the 90 minute session!
Although our research agenda was not advanced as we had hoped, many interesting points and challenges were brought to light.
Given the success of the discussion, the panel would like to consider developing another panel session on genre for a future conference. Consistent with our user-centered approach to genre, we would like to ask the attendees, and potential future attendees, what topics they would like to see in a future panel session.
Please email me at mrosso at nccu.edu, and I will forward your comments on to the panel.
