Science/Technology Reference Librarian
Position Summary: 12-month tenure-track position. Provides reference,
instruction and collection development in science and technology areas.
Participates in general reference services and library instruction.
Expected to progress successfully along the tenure and promotion track
and participate fully as a member of the Library faculty.
Supervision Received: Reports to Head of Reference/Instruction
Department.
Supervision Exercised: May supervise one or more support staff and
student assistants.
Required: ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent terminal degree;
undergraduate degree in a science/technology area or equivalent
science/technology reference experience; ability to work independently
and in a team environment; relevant experience in an academic/research
library or research setting; excellent communication skills, both oral
and written, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
Desirable: Demonstrated ability to initiate, organize and set
priorities in a team environment; advanced degree in science and/or
technology or related area; second masters or other graduate degree in
science and/or technology; experience with library instruction,
reference or electronic information resources.
Salary: Competitive - commensurate with experience.
