Workshop highlights include a presentation from Microsoft External
Research Programs on HCI funding opportunities, a keynote speech by Joe
Valacich on the state of HCI research publications in premier IS journal
outlets, and 13 high-quality, research paper presentations.  

The workshop registration fee includes continental breakfast, coffee
breaks, lunch, reception, and a printed copy of the workshop
program/proceedings. As shown above, special discounts are offered to
PhD students and attendees who also enroll in the SIG IS-CoRE workshop.
Please consider attending both workshops, which complement each other
very well.

MICROSOFT RESEARCH FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES:
Dr. Yan Xu, Program Manager with External Research Programs at
Microsoft, will provide a presentation on faculty and student research
funding opportunities available through Microsoft.  

KEYNOTE SPEECH:
Dr. Joe Valacich will report on the state of HCI research publications
in premier IS journal outlets. The characteristics of HCI research
published in premier journals over the past five years (2000-2005) will
be discussed. In addition, the keynote speech will address the potential
impact of these publication opportunities on promotion and tenure for
HCI academics.
