DigitalPreservationEurope (DPE), PLANETS, and CASPAR are pleased to announce
that they will be delivering a joint one-day workshop to introduce the aims
of their specific digital preservation projects and to discuss their overall
relevance within the context of the European Commission Information Science
and Technologies Framework Programme 6. This event is being held in
conjunction with the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) and will be held at the
Hilton Glasgow Hotel on November 23rd, 2006 immediately following the 2nd
Annual DCC Conference [http://www.dcc.ac.uk/events/dcc-2006/].
Benefits of Attendance
This workshop will introduce participants to a range of newly-funded EC
research including CASPAR, PLANETS, and DigitalPreservationEurope (DPE).
Each project will present an overview of their aims and objectives as well
as providing more detailed information on the specific tools and resources
that each project will produce. Collaboration is a key objective for each of
these projects and this meeting will provide a forum for networking and
bridge-building between these and other international initiatives. In
addition to providing detailed FP6 Project information, this meeting will
host two round-table discussions to debate key curation and preservation
themes.
