Our client, a premier provider of content services, is seeking a
motivated individual to join their tem and to play a major role in the
growth of their taxonomy business in the Central US or West Coast
regions. The Taxonomy consultant will be working closely with the
Taxonomy Services Managers and other group members, playing a lead role
in the delivery of customer specific strategic Taxonomy Services
engagements to deadline and to high-quality standards. This includes
participating in taxonomy workshops and user needs assessments,
recommendation; helping clients build and maintain taxonomies; and
providing best practice advice on taxonomy ownership, implementation and
maintenance.
In addition he or she will also be uncovering and supporting the
licensing of the company's Taxonomy and Metadata Management software
solution and supporting Managed News Summaries and the licensing of the
company's taxonomies and selected third-party taxonomies. Working with
the sales and taxonomy groups, this position will also be searching for
opportunities in accounts where strategic taxonomy engagements are
taking place; and finally assisting the Director of Taxonomy Services,
to investigate new areas of taxonomy services business potential.
Qualifications:
* Five years of expertise and experience in editorial and taxonomy
services, application and maintenance.
* Familiarity with taxonomy management and/or indexing software
applications is desirable.
* Excellent organizational/project management skills
* strong Interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with
attention to detail
* Solid decision making skills with the ability to generate
innovative solutions/ideas
* Ability to work to deadlines and to high quality standards;
self-motivation, confidence; and ability to work in a team is desirable
* MLS or similar qualification
* Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of additional
languages will be helpful.
This position is preferably based in Los Angeles or San Francisco, but
qualified candidates from Chicago or Denver will be considered.
California candidates will have extensive day traveling within the
state. Midwest candidates will have moderate overnight travel.
Candidates based in other areas of the country may be considered if
they are willing to travel up to 75%.
Excellent base compensation plus bonus potential.
