Please join us for a special celebration!
The School of Information and Library Science (SILS) at the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill cordially invites you to the launch its 75th
anniversary on Monday, September 18, 2006. With the theme, "Illuminating
the Past, Imagining the Future," you won't want to miss the ceremony which
will feature special guests:
* Deanna Marcum, associate librarian for Library Services, Library of
Congress
* Michael Ruettgers, senior advisor and retired chair, EMC2 Corporation
* Robert Martin, professor, Texas Women's University School of Library and
Information Science
The event will also include musical entertainment, words from university
and state officials, and a short video on the history of the school.
The launch will take place at 2 p.m. in Memorial Hall on the UNC at Chapel
Hill campus. A reception will follow.
