I am pleased to say that registration for the First International
Conference on e-Social Science is now open.

Manchester Conference Centre

Conference themes include the following:
o Case studies of e-social science in practice
o Studies of (e-)research and (e-)social science research practices
o The benefits and challenges of large scale collaborative research
o Enhancing existing social science research methods through e-
social science
o Innovation in research methods through e-social science
o Socio-technical issues in the development of e-social science
research methods
o Ethical issues and challenges in the collection, integration,
sharing and analysis of sociological data
o New sources and forms of sociological data
o Standards for metadata, ontologies, annotation, curation, etc
o Middleware for data collection, sharing and integration
o Tools for data mining, visualisation, analysis, modelling and
collaborative research
o Understanding requirements for research tools and middleware

There will also be 32 full papers presented, 3 panel sessions featuring
national and international experts, a poster display and a sponsors
exhibition.

There are a variety of registration options available including reduced
rates for students.  In addition there is also a FREE Agenda Setting
Workshop on Collaboration, Co-Laboratories and e-Research on the 20th of
