1. DR. LAURENT ROMARY TO PRESENT THE GL7 INAUGURAL ADDRESS
Laurent Romary is a Scientific and Technical Information Officer with CNRS.
Romary received his PhD in computational linguistics in 1989 and his
‘Habilitation’ thesis in 1999. For several years, he has led the ‘Langue et
Dialogue’ research team at Loria Laboratory and conducted various projects
on man-machine dialogue, multilingual document management, and linguistic
engineering. He coordinated the MLIS/DHYDRO, IST/MIAMM, and e-Content/Lirics
Projects, and is currently Chairman of the ISO Committee TC37/SC4 on
Language Resource Management. Romary is a member of the TEI Council (Text
Encoding Initiative) and is now also involved in the open access movement.

2. JST, LONGEST STANDING MEMBER ON THE PROGRAM COMMITTEE
The Japan Science and Technology Agency is currently the longest standing
member on the GL Program Committee. JST (formerly JICST) was a member for
the very First International Conference on Grey Literature in 1993 and has
since served on six of the seven Program Committees in this conference
series. JST is a core organization for implementing Japan’s science and
technology policy. Its aim is towards the realization of a nation built on
the creativity of science and technology. JST headquarters are in Tokyo and
it maintains regional offices in Paris and Washington D.C. from which
representatives on the GL Program Committees have served. On April 19th, the
GL Program and Conference Director will pay a visit the Tokyo Headquarters,
where he will acquire a fuller understanding of JST’s new information

3. NON-NATIVE ENGLISH-SPEAKING AUTHORS CAN ELECT FOR EDITORIAL SUPPORT
Non-native English-speaking authors, who submit abstracts of their papers to
the GL7 Program Committee, may request editorial support from the conference
and organizing bureau. This is a complimentary service offered upon the
explicit request of the author. This editorial service not only hopes to
encourage content contributions from non-native English speakers, but also
seeks to facilitate the work of the Program Committee. Simply type,
“Editorial service requested” above your abstract and submit on or before

4. THE GREY JOURNAL INITIATES ‘SEA CHANGE’ IN CONFERENCE RESEARCH
TGJ initiates a profound transformation in exporting and distributing
research results originating in the GL Conference Series. New and expanding
information markets have been added to its international port-of-call,
whereby not only the supply and demand for grey literature is monitored but
