Faculty Position (Assistant/Associate Professor)

Indiana University's (IU) School of Library and Information Science
(SLIS) at Bloomington invites applications for a position as
Assistant/Associate Professor. Successful candidates will hold or be
close to completing a doctoral degree. Applicants with strong research
and teaching interests in digital libraries, broadly construed, are
especially encouraged to apply.

The school's developing research agenda encompasses social and
cognitive analyses of interactions among people, organizations,
technologies and information, particularly in relation to the
development of digital libraries and the World Wide Web. SLIS
maintains excellent working relations with colleagues in other
academic units and is an active player in IU's Digital Library Program
(http://www.dlib.indiana.edu). The School was recently awarded a major
grant by the Institute of Museum and Library Services to support
educational initiatives in digital library development. Information

SLIS has an interdisciplinary faculty whose backgrounds include
information science, computer science, librarianship, linguistics,
political science, psychology, and sociology. Its faculty was recently
ranked first in North America for its scholarly productivity and
impact. In addition to the Master of Library Science (MLS) degree, the
school offers the Master of Information Science (MIS), a Ph.D. in
Information Science, and a post-master's specialization in Library and
Information Science.
