Margaret E. Monroe Award - Adult Services
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2005 Margaret E. Monroe Award (www.ala.org/rusa/awards) given by the American Library Association's Reference and User Services Association. Self-nominations are welcomed. Applications must be received by Wednesday, December 15, 2004.
The Margaret E. Monroe Award, established in 1985, honors a librarian who has made significant contributions to library adult services. The individual may be a practicing librarian, a library and information science researcher or educator, or a retired library who has brought distinction to the profession's understanding and practice of services to adults.
The critieria for "significant contributions" will be judged by such factors as publications, leadership, measurable effectiveness of programs, influence on others, and creative and innovative concepts. Nominations letters may include letters of recommendation and supporting materials.
