Director, Health Science Libraries

The University of Minnesota University Libraries ( http://www.lib.umn.edu ) 
seek visionary senior leadership for the newly created position of Director 
of Health Science Libraries (Bio-Medical Library and Veterinary Medical 
Library).  Reporting to the University Librarian, the Director oversees 
planning, resource development, collections, 67 FTE staff, services, and 
outreach activities in two facilities on the Twin Cities campus. The 
University and its Libraries system offer significant opportunities in a 
vibrant urban environment.

The Bio-Medical Library serves five professional schools, more than 20 
multidisciplinary research institutes, and numerous graduate programs in 
the health sciences.  The collection contains over 465,000 volumes, 2,100 
current journal subscriptions, and 1,750 electronic full-text journals.

The Veterinary Medical Library and associated computer lab, on the St. Paul 
Campus, are physically integrated into the College of Veterinary Medicine 
complex, offering a context for significant engagement in instruction, 
research, and clinical activities.  The collection contains over 600 serial 
subscriptions and 80,000 volumes.
