Emporia State University seeks an experienced and innovative individual
to administer and coordinate Computer Support and Technical Services
areas of the university library. This position is responsible for
providing innovative and effective computer support services while
overseeing the technical services group. This position reports to the
Dean of University Libraries and Archives and serves on the library's
administrative team.
RESPONSIBILITIES include: Coordination of computer support services
and technical services activities which include leading the library web
development committee and managing the Innovative Interfaces Inc. server
and software; supervising the computer support and cataloging teams
which includes 3 support staff and student assistants; collection
development in assigned areas; assisting with reference service.
QUALIFICATIONS: (Required) ALA accredited M.L.S.; minimum three
years' library experience with library systems administration or
technical services in an automated environment; strong computing and
technology experience; knowledge of cataloging; effective oral and
written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and organizational
skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to
meet tenure requirements of teaching/performance of primary duties,
research, and service
(Preferred) Successful supervisory experience; professional experience
in cataloging; experience with Innovative Interfaces Inc.; working with
outsourcing vendors.
SALARY AND RANK: Position is a twelve month, tenure track appointment
at the rank of assistant professor or above with full benefit package.
