We just received word that long-time member Barbara Flood passed away on
New Year's Eve.

Apparently lung cancer led to bone cancer, and her brother describes her
passing as merciful and quick.

There will be a memorial service on January 18 at the Trinity Center for
Urban Life, 22 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, at 3:00 pm.

Barbara was extremely fond of the National Constitution Center (How
appropriate) for donations.

For those who did not know here, in a minimum of words, Barbara won the
Watson Davis Award in 1987. In 1994 at the Annual Business Meeting, she
made a motion, which passes, opposing the use of genetic information for
such purposes as insurance decisions, etc. She was far-sighted.
