Two New FACULTY POSITIONS

The School of Information Studies (SOIS) at the University of Wisconsin-
Milwaukee (UWM) is recruiting for two new tenure-track faculty positions at the

assistant, associate or full professor rank, to begin in Fall 2004. Candidates 
should be committed to teaching and research in an interdisciplinary 
environment and have the ability to teach mainly in the undergraduate 
information resources program. 

Preference will be given to applicants with specialization in two or more of 
the following areas:

Computer networking and network management, information technology, 
informatics, database management, information architecture and design, Web 
development, management of information systems & services.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Prior teaching and work

The search and screen committee will begin to review applications on October 
31, 2003, and will continue until positions are filled.

The growing School of Information Studies offers the Master of Library and 
Information Science (MLIS) degree and the Bachelor of Science in Information 
Resources (BSIR), undergraduate and graduate certificates, as well as seven 
coordinated (double) interdisciplinary masters in cooperation with other 
departments in the College of Letters & Science and the Peck School of the 
Arts. It is also the administrative home of the area of concentration in 
Educational Media Technology in the Urban Education Doctoral Program and 
collaborates with other academic programs in offering a multidisciplinary Ph.D.
