Teach Globally, Learn Locally:  Innovations in Health and Biomedical Informatics Education in the 21st Century

International Medical Informatics Association Working Group on Education 2003 Meeting

Portland, OR, USA - April 23-25, 2003 - Portland Hilton Hotel

The goals of the meeting are to provide both an exposition for innovations in health and biomedical informatics education as well as provide a working meeting for ongoing work of the IMIA Working Group on Education.  The latter includes the development of a health and biomedical informatics education textbook and planning for the development of the IMIA "virtual university" that will enable students in educational programs to access courses at other universities around the globe.

About 64 papers and posters have been accepted for presentation, all of which will be published in a CD-ROM proceedings distributed to conference attendees.  A number of sponsors are supporting the event and will provide additional perspectives on health and biomedical informatics education.

The meeting will span two and one-half days and be held April 23-25, 2003 in Portland, Oregon, USA.  The conference registration includes attendance at all sessions, all meals and social events, and the CD-ROM proceedings.  This event is hosted by the Division of Medical Informatics & Outcomes Research at Oregon Health & Science University.
