*LACASIS and You: Helping Information Professionals in Developing Countries

Contribute $25 to the SIG III Digital Scholar’s Fund! The ASIST Special 
Interest Group on International Information Issues is seeking donations to 
fund its annual International Paper contest. For the past four years SIG 
III has given a two-year ASIST membership to six winners from developing 
countries, and has raised funds to bring the top two winners to the ASIST 
Annual Meeting.  This year additional funds of $2400 are needed for 
participants who could not attend past ASIST Annual Meetings due to visa 
difficulties. Funds will be used to help pay for the participant’s hotel 
expenses.  LACASIS will be donating $300 to this year’s Digital Scholar’s 
Fund.

We are asking you, our chapter members, to help us raise funds for the 
additional costs. A tax-deductible donation of $25 is suggested.  You may 
include this optional donation with your LACASIS Fall Workshop registration 
fee check.  We will subtract anything above your registration fee and 
deposit in the SIG III Digital Scholar’s Fund.
