Instructional Design Librarian

The College of Staten Island Library seeks a creative and dynamic librarian to
fill an exciting and influential position as Instructional Design Librarian.

Responsibilities: Supports the librarys programs for library instruction, 
information literacy, information technology and research by developing web-
based instructional and training modules.  Provides leadership in the 
development of tools and activities that support and promote the instructional
programs and services (i.e. informational materials, curricular materials, 
guides, tutorials, workshops).  Able to provide high quality, proactive
reference service utilizing a variety of print and electronic research 
resources. Capable of introducing new technologies to the academic 
communities.  Coordinator of the Center for Excellence and Learning 
Technologies. Reports to Chief Librarian.

Qualifications: MLS from an ALA-accredited library school and a second graduate 
degree is required for tenure-track position. Academic library experience;
expertise in providing effective reference and library instruction services in
an online environment. Experience in instructional design, which may include
assessing instructional needs and creating instructional tools. Proficient with
current information technology and software and hardware used in web design.
Demonstrated skills with web-page development. Experience with web-based
courseware management tools (i.e. Blackboard).  Must have effective
interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Rank & salary (Commensurate with qualifications):
Assistant Professor $42,162 - $57,049, Associate Professor $45,651 - 73,028
